Winter is the best season to walk the beach, says Bob Petrone, a Cranston resident who has a summer home in Charlestown. "I use the summer house as an excuse this time of year," he says. "I go down there to check on it two or three times a week, and then I walk the beach." His favorite place is the Quonochontaug beachfront, from East Beach to Quonny Breachway. "It's so private during the winter," he says. Last fall and winter, Bob carried his camera and shot enough beautiful images to create a DVD slide show for members of his family. The production includes serene sounds of the surf and a lovely solo piano arrangement of Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D. Family members loved it and wondered whether Bob could share his pictures with more people. He posted the production on YouTube.

Deserted wintry beaches are great for long walks and thoughtful solitude. Have to dress warmly in these parts though. Otherwise the numbness takes away all the fun.
Great post!
