Hi I'm Jake, Pam Cotter's 11-year-old son. I have a very efficient workout that may be able to increase your fitness and overall well being. My workout is fairly simple and even a little easy at times. My routine consists of using dumbbells, the treadmill, and an exercise bike. First you start with either 3 or 5 pound dumbbells you do 10 repetitions over your head then 10 under your body next you lower your weights to waist level and bring them up 10 times, lastly you put your dumbbells up to your chest then slowly pull them apart for maximum efficiency. After you finish your set you move up to gradually more difficult weights:10s 15s even 20s (if your muscles ache that means that it's working). Now you're on to the treadmill dun dun duuuunn! Start by going slow and warming up, then go 5 mph for 5 minutes. If you feel up to it go faster and longer. If you have one, then you REALLY need to use your exercise bike. Those give you one heck of a workout, although I have no tips, sorry. (Above photo, Jake Cotter tries out his new scooter on Christmas morning, 2008.) CommentsLeave a comment |

Jake,
Thanks for the tips. I'll try to incorporate some of this in my workout today.
And enjoy that scooter.

Jake!
Very impressive! Sounds like a well-rounded workout. I'm assuming you're jogging at 5mph? Because if you're walking that fast I'm even more impressed than I was before!
