There are two relatively newer versions of the age-old practice of yoga that have caused quite a stir lately, because they are designed to make us look and feel younger and happier: "face yoga" and "laughter yoga." Gaim, one of the best brands in yoga, calls it a "fountain of youth," because it reverses the stresses of everyday life by stretching our facial muscles -- something that could help with wrinkles and worry-lines. Realself.com notes that exercising our faces can be a double-edged sword: it could create more wrinkles, rather than diminish the ones we already have. So the writer offers this caution: "Look in the mirror frequently to make sure you are not wrinkling other parts of your face when you exercise, for example, a very common tendency is to scowl in concentration while you are exercising your lips in the carp curl. "Done correctly, facial exercise can help smooth out expression lines because, for one thing, you become aware of how you are using your face." But hey, what harm can there be in a little laughter and funny-face making? Since today is my birthday, I think I'll try it!
