One of the biggest keys to keeping weight off is a good metabolic rate -- metabolism helps burn calories and keep the food we eat from turning into fat.

Touted high the list of foods that can actually help you lose weight are hot peppers. But in addition to that, they have an antiseptic quality -- preventing diseases such as the flu -- contain a large amount of vitamin C and beta-carotene, regulate blood circulation, strengthens the heart, arteries nerves, eliminates pains and abscesses, and, some say, can even help treat alcoholism.

Capsaicin is the ingredient in peppers that gives them their heat. Research shows that this compound actually stimulates your body's production of adrenaline which kicks your metabolism into high gear temporarily. So throwing some chiles on your enchilada or adding cayenne pepper to your pasta may help you lose a little weight.

interesting...sounds slightly related to the concept of thermogenics.

although hot peppers may increase your metablic rate, beware that spicy foods in general will trigger a hunger sensation, even when your body is already full.
