A fitness boot camp has opened in Coventry. RI Fitness Bootcamp is for adults to get healthy while having fun, meeting new people, and learning how to maximize healthy results quickly," according to the camp's blog. "Our goal is to help you not only work out safely and correctly, but to workout in an environment that challenges [you] both physically and mentally. We want to get you out of the gym rut and get you doing and feeling things you never thought possible or have not felt in a long time."
Writing in the Dallas Morning News, Debbie Fetterman says, "Traditionally, most of us associate boot camps with Army basic-training regimens. The boot-camp philosophy works in the military and has proven effective for civilians, too." RI Fitness Boot Camps are headquartered in the Athletic Conditioning Center. They run for four weeks, and , class fees range from $15 to $25. Debbie Fetterman writes, "Boot camp provides an opportunity to push yourself beyond your comfort zone, respond to that challenge without quitting and reap the mental, physical and psychological rewards of success. Your classmates are there to moan and groan with you through the process and to rejoice in the accomplishments."
