It's free. The class description says it will be "a hands-on, interactive clinic focusing on flexibility, strength and recovery poses needed for runners and cyclists. We'll practice key beneficial poses, target common trouble areas, and discuss programs that will help keep you injury-free. "Decrease muscle stiffness while enhancing muscle relaxation. This allows for greater endurance and quicker recovery. "Reduce risk of injury. A flexible muscle is less likely to become injured. "Increased range of motion will result in smoother runs and rides. "Improve mechanical efficiency and overall functional performance. Since a flexible joint requires less energy to move through a wider range of motion, a flexible body improves overall performance by creating more energy-efficient movements. "Reduce risk of low-back pain. Flexibility in the hamstrings, hip flexors and muscles attached to the pelvis relieves stress on the lumbar spine." Tara S. Comer will lead the clinic; she is a USAT certified coach, yoga Instructor and Tri Kula coach. The clinic is free, but reservations are necessary. Call (401) 275-5250 or visit the store. |
